Rachel Clegg, PLA
Rachel has been working in the design field since 1996. Her experience includes collaboration with various design professionals, urban planners, building contractors, craftspeople, horticulturalists, artists, nature lovers and plant enthusiasts.
Rachel studied at North Carolina State University and earned a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the College of Design in 2001. While there, she was a teaching assistant in the Department of Horticulture helping instruct undergraduates in their first landscape design studio course. During the course of her study, she was awarded the Warren T. Byrd Prize for exemplifying professional excellence in visual communication and she was a Mary Eleanor Burch Scholarship recipient which honored the creation of poetry of space in landscape design.
Rachel focuses on designs built on a relationship with the land. She enjoys discovering opportunities of how to create beautiful environments through combining a client’s vision with the requirements of design and development ordinances while meeting the needs of the land and natural systems.
Rachel grew up in Columbus, Ohio and holds a Bachelors degree in Art with a minor in Geology from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. She is a licensed landscape architect in North Carolina.
